Suboxone Group

Suboxone is a medication approved for the maintenance phase of treatment for opiate dependence.  This medication works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence.  Currently opiate dependence treatments (like methadone) can be dispensed only in a limited number of clinics that specialize in addiction treatment.

Opioid addicts desiring to refrain from the use of drugs may join a group meeting at the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry following and initial intake evaluation.  This once a month meeting is required for group discussion and for suboxone prescription renewal.  There will be a random urine drug screening and group members will be required to show evidence of attendance to at least four 12-Step meetings weekly.
