Collectors of Fiesta china can purchase one of a kind pieces and simultaneously aid in the battle against breast cancer.
Homer Laughlin in Newell, West Virginia, has created a bud vase, carafe and Fiesta mug specifically designed for the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center. The unique Fiestaware bears the logo of WVU’s Breast Care Center and is available for purchase at the Friend’s gift shop in Ruby Memorial Hospital. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Center.
“This china makes a nice remembrance gift for women who’ve finished their breast cancer treatment, or is a great way to show support during Breast cancer Awareness Month,” said Pat Antion, manager of Friend’s.
Since opening its doors in 1996, the Breast Care Center has performed more than 97,000 mammograms, more than 10,000 breast ultrasounds and 4,000 breast biopsies. The facility provides the best available expertise, educational tools and technology aimed at the prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
