Injury Prevention Outreach Programs

The trauma center currently sponsors three outreach programs: Trauma Nurses Talk Tough, Fall Prevention and Pediatric Injury Prevention. These educational classes are designed to increase awareness and decrease injury.

Trauma Nurses Talk Tough
The Trauma Nurses Talk Tough class is aimed at high school students and young adults to try to decrease the number of injuries and deaths associated with risk-taking behavior.

Fall Prevention
The Fall Prevention course targets older adults to help reduce or eliminate falls.

Pediatric Injury Prevention
This program is geared toward children between the ages of one and 12.  We offer a variety of programs including the American Trauma Society mascot Troo the Traumaroo.  Our goal is to establish safe behavior practices among the younger population.
