Dr. Warren Boling specializes in the surgical treatment of epilepsy, and is West Virginia University's director of
epilepsy surgery.
"When I see a patient, we talk about how excited we are that we have the chance to stop this disease. That is
what I like about performing this kind of surgery - the ability to intervene and change the course of a
disease, and to make someone's life better."
A fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neurosurgery, Dr. Boling has earned
international awards for research and study in clinical and basic neuroscience. He has published and lectured
on brain imaging as well as the evaluation and treatment of intractable epilepsy. He has experience in all aspects
of neurosurgical treatment for seizure disorders.
Dr. Boling earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University and completed his neurosurgical residency at
the University of Kentucky Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in epilepsy and functional neurosurgery at
McGill University in Canada. He also completed a fellowship in epilepsy surgery at the University of
Melbourne in Australia. He came to WVU from the Montreal Neurological Hospital and Institute, a world-renowned
center for the surgical treatment of epilepsy. Curriculum Vitae
