International Program

Other Services for International Patients and Families

WVU Hospitals provides many other services for international patients and their families, including:

Personal Service
Our international program coordinator helps to meet the needs of international patients during their stay -- including making arrangements for transportation and lodging, meeting special dietary needs, arranging for translation services, answering questions, resolving problems, and meeting any other special needs or requests you may have.

Rosenbaum Family House
Rosenbaum Family House is connected to the hospital, and offers comfortable private rooms and apartments, lounges, kitchens, and laundry facilities for families of adult patients in the hospital. Family House also offers an Internet-ready computer for use by guests.

Ronald McDonald House
Families of pediatric patients stay at Ronald McDonald House, a comfortable facility with private bedrooms, a large living room, two large kitchens, and laundry facilities. Ronald McDonald House is located within easy walking distance of WVU Hospitals.

Translation Service
A 24-hour-a-day telephone translation service is available for patients and their families. Certified translators are available in all languages, so that you can fully understand the information the doctor and other healthcare staff are providing about your illness and your treatment.

Care for Families
We care for families as well as patients. This may include helping you make connections with a local family from your home country or region, or helping arrange for accommodations, transportation, or special dietary needs.
