Lawrence H. Roberts, MD, FACS

Lawrence H Roberts, MD, FACSLawrence H. Roberts, MD, FACS, joined West Virginia University in 2004 as the director of the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He is also chief of the division of trauma, emergency surgery and surgical critical care at the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center.

A retired U.S. Navy captain, Dr. Roberts joined WVU from the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, where he was attending staff general surgeon and also a trauma and critical care intensivist.

Dr. Roberts received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Health Sciences. He completed advanced training in general surgery at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, Calif., and in trauma and surgical critical care at the University of California Medical Center, San Diego.

Dr. Roberts is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He is board certified in Surgical Critical Care.
