Feb. 7, 3 p.m., HSC Pylons Lobby

West Virginia University will kick off a year-long celebration of its 150th birthday on Tuesday Feb. 7, the University’s official founding date. The campus community is invited to join President E. Gordon Gee and other campus leaders at one of three celebrations.

The Davis College, the original academic unit at the University, will host the first event at 12:30 p.m. in the main lobby of the Agricultural Sciences Building. At 3 p.m., the festivities move to the Health Sciences Center Pylons. The Mountainlair’s lower grand staircase area will serve as the venue for a 5:30 p.m. event.

The Morgantown community will also get a chance to celebrate 150 years and counting at halftime of the Feb. 11 WVU vs. Kansas State basketball game. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more events and details throughout the year.
