Financial Support

Nearly 50% of families utilizing Family House’s services pay over the $15 per night minimum fee, however, many others do not have the financial means to provide a gift. Because no one is turned away if they cannot pay, these payments only cover approximately one-third of the annual operating expenses. Your tax-deductible contribution provides the support we need to maintain operations while keeping fees to a minimum for those we serve.

All gifts of $5,000 or more are recognized on a permanent, brass nameplate on our Wall of Recognition, located in the main lobby of Family House.

Volunteer Opportunities
The Rosenbaum Family House could not operate on a daily basis without the support of our many wonderful volunteers. They are truly the heart of the house making it a Home for our families.

We need all types of volunteers, allowing you to commit in a way that works for you. Everything from serving on the Board of Advisors to preparing guest meals, to doing chores around the house, to answering phones is done by volunteers. Whether you commit daily, weekly, monthly, for a specific event, as an individual or in a group, we hope your volunteer experience will be a great one.

Ways to Volunteer:

• Work at the Family House as a WVUH volunteer. We use WVUH volunteers who request placement at the Family House to help with household chores, answer phones, facilitate, family interactions such as “Meet Your Neighbor Night” or do light clerical work and generally help out around the house. Call WVUH Volunteer office at 598-4134 or go online to the WVUH Volunteer page to explore these opportunities.
• Meals Program. Provide dinner for 20-40 Family House guests. Although the hospital cafeteria is only steps away, our guests truly appreciate a home-cooked or restaurant donated meal. You may, individually or as a group, provide the food, serve and clean up, on a regular basis or as a one time event.
• Fundraising. Work on one of our annual events or put on your own fundraiser for the house. Contact the Family House about procedures for holding an event.
• Board of Advisors — Openings periodically arise on our Board which serves in a fundraising and advisory capacity. We recruit Board members from our highest areas of guest concentration around the state.
