Larry A. Rhodes, MD, section chief of pediatric cardiology, has created a comprehensive, multidisciplinary cardiology clinic to treat adult patients (typically age 20 and over) who have survived congenital heart disease.
As many of the patients have had heart surgery, the goal of the clinic is to provide an improved quality of life for this group of patients.
The Congenital Heart Program includes pediatric and adult cardiologists, congenital heart surgeons, internal medicine specialists, and other disciplines such as social work.
Dr. Rhodes is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the sub-board of Pediatric Cardiology.
He specializes in electrophysiology and offers a full range of diagnosis and treatment, including tilt table, radio-frequency ablation, pacemakers, and implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
Rhodes completed his medical degree at WVU, where he also served as a chief resident in pediatrics. He received training in pediatric cardiology at Children’s Hospital Boston, where he served as chief fellow and completed a fellowship in clinical electrophysiology.
Before rejoining WVU, Rhodes served as the medical director of the Cardiac Intake Center and director of cardiac electrophysiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
