The Stroke Clinic is located in the Physician Office Center (POC) on level 1. Use the Eye Institute entrance, then take the elevators to the third floor. Turn left and got to the registration desk to sign in.

Diagnosis and treatment of stroke is provided by a multi-disciplinary team of specialists through WVU Hospitals.
David Libell, MD — Director, Stroke Center, Neurology
Dr. Libell is a neurologist whose special interests are stroke and neuromuscular diseases.
Claudette Brooks, MD — Neurology
Dr. Brooks is a neurologist with special training in stroke. She has expertise in primary and secondary stroke prevention.
Jeffrey Carpenter, MD — Section Chief of Neurointerventional Radiology, Director of MRI
Dr. Carpenter is a neuroradiologist. He is board-certified in diagnostic radiology, and has special interest in neuroradiology.
Gauri Pawar, MD — Neurology
Dr. Pawar is a neurologist. She is board-certified in neurology, with a special interest in neurophysiology.
Ansaar Rai, MD — Neurology / Neuroradiology
Dr. Rai is a neuroradiologist at WVU. His special interests include stroke intervention and imaging.
Todd Crocco, MD — Chair, Emergency Medicine
Dr. Crocco is an emergency medicine physician at WVU. His special interests include pre-hospital stroke care.
Julian Bailes, MD — Chair, Neurosurgery
Dr. Bailes is board certified in neurosurgery. His specialty areas are cerebrovascular surgery, sports injuries and telemedicine.
Charles Rosen, MD, PhD —
Dr. Charles Rosen is a neurosurgeon. His specialized surgical skills offer hope to patients with tumors of the brain, spinal cord, and other parts of the central nervous system and stroke.
Thomas Roberts, MD — Dr. Roberts received his medical degree from West Virginia University and his specialty training at West Virginia University and at University of Pittsburgh. He is board-certified in ABR radiology and has special competence in nuclear medicine. Dr. Roberts’ area of special interest is neuroradiology.
